Religion

Today in class we all talked about religion.  We looked at a large map county by county and looked at where the different religions where mostly populated.  It was really cool to see where everything was located.  We also looked at two other maps.  The one was the United states but not county by county. It was populated by the area.  It was a more flexible map then the county by county one.  The last map we looked at was the world map.  It showed the different religions in the entire world.  There are a ton of different religions in the world.  We also looked at a 3d pie chart of the percentages of the different religions.  It was good to see the amount of people in each religion as well as the range of people in each category.  Overall i really enjoyed todays class and thought it was a good lesson to learn about the different religions.

Received Test Back

Today in class we received our test back that we did back on Friday.  I though I did pretty well but I actually got a 79 which I was not expecting.  I thought I did a little better than that but I guess it is what I deserved.  I got a total of seven things wrong on the test.  I got no wrong on the first page.  I was happy about that.  Then I got two wrong on the second page.  I got number 14 wrong as well as number 16.  I performed just as well as on page two as I did on the third.  I got 22 and 24 wrong.  On the finally page I got a total of three wrong which was fairly disappointing.  I got 29, 30, and 32 wrong.  At the end of class talked about the exams coming up.  Before the conversation I had no idea what expect but now I have a better idea of what is going down

Quiz Day

Today we had a quiz on the world leaders power point.  I felt like I got a few wrong but I can still manage to get a high B to a mid A.  The first section was just matching the country with it's leader.  That part was really easy and I most likely got a 100% on that section.  The second part was matching the country with its description.  This part was a little hard but I think I still did well.  The next part was on the leaders and matching it with a fun fact or their description.  This part I thought was the longest.  It also as the longest section on the quiz.  The last two question were on matching the two pictures of the leaders.  The first one was Putin.  The second one was Bashar al-Assad.  That was the shortest section on the quiz.  Overall the test was a good test.

Last Day for Review

Today we went over the last part of the power point on the world leaders.  Today we went over six counties.  The first country we looked at was the United Kingdom.  Their leader is Theresa May.  The second Country we looked at was Russia.  Their leader is Vladimir Putin.  The third leader we looked at was from Syria.  Their leader is evil Bashar al-Assad.  The fourth leader we looked at was from South America.  He's name is Jacob Zuma.  The fish leader we looked at was Canada's.  He's name is Justin Trudeau.  He is a really nice person and is good friends with our country.  The final country we looked at is our country.  Our leader is Barack Obama but very soon to be Donald Trump.  Trump is a business man, a billionaire, an author and much more.  When you look over all of the slides you can see how all of them are very different from each other and do things very differently.

World Leaders Review

Today in class we reviewed about the world leaders again.  Mr. Schick created a slide on us to take notes.  The test is on Friday so we are reviewing for it as well as on Wednesday. Today we looked at 6 presidents.  The first president we looked at was from Brazil.  The second president we looked at was china.  They have the only communist state we looked at on our slide.  The president is XI Jipling.  The third was France.  One of the countries we look at was Mexico.  He actually isn't married and has 4 kids.  We also looked at Germany.  The president is Joachim Gauck but Merkel is a lot more powerful.  She is ranked first on the Forbes most powerful list.  She is the second most powerful person in the world under Putin.  Obama is third.  Isreal was also one of the ones we looked at.  They are really important to us even though they are surrounded by sketchy countries like Syria and Iraq.

Today in class we looked at our world leaders powerpoint again.  Yesterday we looked at the first half.  Some of the presidents we talked about were Germany's, China's and Russia.  Today in class looked at more of them.  We looked at Prime minister Bashar al-ASAD.  Mr. Schick explained how bad of a president he was.  For the pst three years he has been and awful president.  He is really evil.  This is why so many innocent people are flowing out of Syria just to go to any other country.  On the hand, Canada's president is a really great person.  He is young and healthy.  He is really nice to all his people.  We are great allies with Canada which is really great since we have the longest border in the world between us.  He is a boxer, and a snowboarder.  The last president I'm going to talk about is Israel's.  We are great allies with them as well.

Back to World Leaders

Today in class we looked at our world leaders slide we looked a fairly long time ago.  We haven't looked it it because of two major events.  The Cubs winning the World Series and Trump being elected as president.  We looked at a few of the president s and their government.  Mr. Schick just told us more about the presidents and their governments.  We learned how China has a communist government.  This means the government basically rules the country.  We also learned about Putin, Russia's president.  He is extremely powerful and the country fears him.  He put a band in 3 years of brutal time in jail for making jokes and insulting him.  I find this pretty crazy.  We also talked about Germany's president.  She is most likely the most powerful leader in Europe and the most powerful woman in the world.  We also talked about how the presidents meet up with each other and talk about alliances and other things like that behind the cameras.

Trump Wins the Election

Dear Mr. Trump

     Congratulations on your electoral win.  I really wanted you to win the election.  Honestly. I didn't expect you to take the win.  Fortunately, you did what you had to do in all of the important states.  I'm really excited for you to be president. I watched the elections all the way till 3:00 am.  I want to talk about things I expect from you.  First, you should keep the country as good as it is as of right now if not better.  No one wants the country to go downhill.  Second of all, I wanted you to act in all of your promises such as your wall and getting illegal immigrants out of all country, its only fair.  I think you can do better then Barack Obama and make America great again.  I'm also excited because my family are republicans and so are you.  Overall Im really excited for you running the office inside the white house.

Presidential Debate

Today in class we learned about the presidential debate.  The presidential debate is tomorrow.  I would prefer for Trump to win but most likely it's not going to happen.  To be honest both of them are fairly awful.  However one of them must win.  We looked at two sites on the internet.  The first one was 270towin.com.  This website showed a lot of information on electoral votes.  It shows the map of the United States and who's predicted to win each state.  To me it looks really accurate.  The second site we looked at is FiveThirtyEight.com.  Thus website shows a lot of information about the chance of winning the election.  This information seems fairly accurate as well.  It shows the chance of Hillary winning by a good amount.  I can see this happening.

Cubs Win the World Series

Yesterday night the Chicago Cubs won the World Series.  This made me so excited.  I watched the entire game till the end and was really happy I did so.  The Cubs where up 6-3 in the 8th inning and I knew they could just win the game and I thought they would win with a pretty big lead.  Somehow Cleveland came back to tie it.  The Cubs didn't score in the last inning.  Happily Cleveland didn't score either.  Then later the Cubs pulled through and won.

Coutries

Today in class we talked about the different countries and there GDPs.  We talked about the differences between the countries.  It s good that we talked about this so we can learn some things from the project.  We also talked about drugs.  We talked about how expensive they where and about Bel Air.  For Bel Air there are a lot of overdoses and deaths because of drugs.  Thats a lot for a small mid class town.  But more importantly the Cubs game last night.  I was extremely happy to see the Cubs win.  I found it really cool.  I would love to see them win it all because Mr. Schick would be so happy.  I really enjoy how this class is not set to be like we are doing this and we are having a test tomorrow. We learn and it keeps us active in class

Finished Project

Today in class we looked into finishing the project.  It was on countries and their leaders.  For example, the United States has President Barack Obama.  We did the following countries: Mexico, China, India, Russia, Germany, U.K., France, Brazil, Syria, Canada, South Africa, and Israel.  Most of day we had to add 10 other things to each country.  We added area, net migration rate, life expectancy, health expenditures, education expenditure, GDP, GDP per Capita, population below poverty, Taxes and other revenues, and finally Military expenditures.  Overall I disliked this project.  I don't seem to understand what we get out of doing this.  Instead we could of done a comparison between two or three countries.  In class we also talked about Mr. Schicks trip to Chicago.  I found it really interesting.  Its really cool how good the Chicago Cubs were doing I think they have a decent chance of winging the World Series.
