Free
Today in class we got to get free time to do homework so I was very excited. I really need it so I could finish doing my math and have more time for later. Thanks Mr. Schick.

Microfinance and grades
Today in class we did a little review on microfinance but mostly we went a little off topic on for example Kickstarter and its differences between Kiva. Mostly Kickstarter is for people who are already blessed with things like the internet and banks. People go onto Kickstarter to help our people with their products by giving away money. Kiva is for people who aren't fortunate enough to have these good things. Kiva is also strictly loans. We also decided wether we were going to have a test on Microfinance this week. The class decided on no. I am very happy about this because I typically don't good on Mr. Shicks tests and don't want to risk getting moved down to a C. We also discussed more about philanthropists and especially a slide on Malaria and how philanthropists give to poor country to help prevent the disease

Review Blog
Today in class we looked at all of are blogs from yesterday. First we talked about Muhammed. We will have to know about him on the test. Then we looked at how Kiva was rated. Kiva was rated around 97 out of 100. This is extremely good for a site like this. Then we looked at the two best philanthropists. There are Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. They are both multi multi multi-billianares. Warren Buffett invests in stock and is really good at this job. Bill Gates is a very smart and created Microsoft. Together they have helped a whole lot giving over 60 Billion dollars combined which is really crazy. We also looked at the Kiva website. There are people on there that already live a rich lifestyle and shouldn't be on Kiva. So that is a loss on Rivas part.

Microfinance Research
Today in class we are doing research on 4 topics. These topic are; microloans and the Nobel Prize, how Kiva is rated as an institution (by Charity Navigator and/or other charity watchdog groups), who are America's greatest philanthropists, and to whom do they give, to whom you would want to make a Kiva loan, and why. Muhammad Yunus won the Noble Peace Prize in 2006 for creating the Grameen banking that used microfinance and microcredit. 96.69 is the overall score that was rated by the institution. The top three philanthropists are Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Li Ka-shing. Warren Buffett has given away a whopping $30.9 Billion, Bill Gates has given away $29.5 Billion, Li Ka-shing has given away 10.7 $billion. Combined they have given to help healthcare, education, poverty, access to information technology, sanitation, and AIDS-prevention. I would want to make a Kiva loan to the Mankarga V11 N09 Group.

Day Back
Today was our first day back from our pretty long break. Even though it was really fun and all we got to get back to work. Today we reviewed one part of our exam that we did on Thursday. It was the scantron part of the exam. We haven't received back our essay portion. I managed to get a B on the test. After taking the test thats what I predicted my score to be. I felt like I did pretty well on the essay so maybe I can get a higher B or maybe even a A. The rest of the class was about microfinance. We reviewed a slide on it. We also look at website called Kiva. I think Kiva is really cool and I even look at the site myself. I do however think the the people should have the option to give more money then was given out so the people that help get appreciated more and can help people other people on Kiva eve more.

Reviewing Tests
Today in class we reviewed two tests. We looked at environmental geography as well as Cultural Geography. I got a 70 and a 71. We are mostly looking over these for our exam that is on Thursday. I already studied for more than half of it. I haven't looked at any of the Essay but I will soon do that. I am looking forward to doing good on my exams so that I can be able to raise my grade up. I need to earn around an 80 or more to keep my grade as a B so I certainly don't want to get a C or even worse. We also talked about how you have to calculated you exam score to see how to raise your letter grade. Im probably the worst at taking Mr Schick's tests so I'm a little worried. I always think I do better than I actually did.

Quiz day
Today in class this Friday we all took a test on environmental Geography. This is also known as global warming or climate change. Personally I think I did pretty good on the test. I defiantly think I did better on this rather then the last one for sure. I'm not really sure how many I got wrong but I'm guessing I get a solid B. Some of the question were kind of confusing. I finished the test first which doesn't make me feel very good but whatever. I still think I put all my effort in to this test. What is good is that all the questions were from the environmental geography google slide and not from anything else. So its good that I studied the right material. Hopefully I get the grade I wanted and I can move on and help the low grade I got last time. Also hopefully I can preform well on the Human Geography Midterm test coming up. That would make me feel very good.
