Political Geography

Today in class we looked at Political Geography.  First in the class Mr. Shick told us the Cubs are in to the World Series.  Now I'm not a huge baseball fan but the happiness  from the Cub fans is amazing.  They haven't made it to the World Series since 1945.  This is a true accomplishment and I am really happy to hear it.  Now into Political Geography.  The world is organized into 3 things.  County, Nation, and State.  A country  is an identifiable land area.  A Nation is a population with a common culture.  A state is a population under a single government.  We also learned about independent states.  Independent states have space or territory which has recognized boundaries.  Has people who we there on an ongoing basis.  Has economic activity and a organized economy.  It has the power of social engineering , such as education.  It has a transportation system.
